What a lovely gathering of art supporters, Coal Harbour neighbours, PAL residents, and government representatives like our M.P., the Hon. Dr. Hedy Fry. Over 550 visitors stopped by PAL’s Garden on July 1st for free pancakes, Ethical Bean coffee and a dazzling array of fresh fruit. The morning began with face painting and storytelling for kids while the Ross Barrett Jazz Trio (Ross Barrett, Ron Thomson and Jack Rae) delighted PALS of every age. Later, PALS Chorus shined on with classic Canadian tunes like “Sunny Days” by Lighthouse. Powerhouse jazz vocalist Don Stewart dialed up the heat with Bill Costin on piano; and Judy Ginn Walchuk gave a stunning performance of an original song. The magnificent violinist Jonathan Chan had the PAL Theatre riveted to their seats for an experimental finale on a rare morning at 581 Cardero.
A Very Special Thank you to PAL Vancouver’s Canada Day sponsors: THE COAL HARBOUR RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION, LEKKER FOODS, PRODUCE TERMINAL, & ETHICAL BEAN COFFEE.
