It’s been an incredible summer for Theatre Under the Stars Vancouver with amazing all-ages audiences being carried away by Mary Poppins and whimsy of The Drowsy Chaperone. So successful that both shows have extended their seasons by one week until August 26!
To top it all off, the cast, crew, and audience of Mary Poppins on Friday, August 18th, and The Drowsy Chaperone on Saturday, August 19th raised and incredible $3,721.90 to support rental assistance at PAL Vancouver too! Bouquets of thanks to our good neighbours at Theatre Under the Stars for supporting PAL’s current and future residents, and vulnerable low-income senior performing arts professionals across the Lower Mainland in need of affordable housing. Theatre Cares Vancouver is a volunteer-based organization uniting the generous spirit of Vancouver’s performing arts community with its supporters to raise funds and awareness for worthy causes including AIDS Vancouver, Positive Living BC, the Actors’ Fund of Canada, the Performing Arts Lodge which provides safe and affordable housing for people in the creative community; and the Stephen Lewis Foundation, an organization dedicated to the relief of the HIV/Aids pandemic in Africa.
PAL Vancouver’s community is extremely grateful for Theatre Cares’ wonderful support over the past two years, sustaining our integral rental assistance program for vulnerable, low-income, senior, longstanding Vancouver performing arts professionals.
